Engineering Systems

The objective of this qualification is to allow learners a degree of specialization within one or more of the following areas: electronics, electrical engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, fabrication, welding, petroleum, etc. In addition it also develops organizational skills including project planning, maintenance strategies, methods of design and analysis, leadership and interpersonal skills.

The SQA Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering provides students with a wide range of knowledge and skills required for mechanical engineering relevant to mechanical, manufacture, marine, process, oil and gas and alternative energy industries. 

The objective of the programme of study is to provide a broad understanding of mechanical engineering technologies, enabling students to progress to advanced level study. In addition, it develops organisational skills including project planning, maintenance strategies, methods of design analysis, leadership and interpersonal skills.

Entry Requirements

  • Applicants should hold a minimum of 55% above in Grade X Indian / Pakistani / Filipino / 5 C’s in IGCSE / equivalent qualification or Successful completion of a relevant UAE equivalent National Qualification at Level 6 or above. Applicants who do not meet this criterion, but have relevant experience or alternative qualifications will be considered.
