Students of Computing Science and Software Engineering from the University of Stirling RAK Campus recently attended Wetex 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). This enriching experience provided valuable exposure to cutting-edge technologies and trends in water, energy, and environmental sectors—areas that are increasingly intertwined with Computing and Software Engineering.
The event offered our students an unparalleled opportunity to connect with industry professionals, potential employers, and peers. Interactive booths showcasing innovative solutions allowed students to engage directly with technologies, fostering hands-on learning and sparking inspiration for their coursework and research projects.
By attending as a group, students also enhanced their teamwork and collaboration skills, discussing and reflecting on the insights gained throughout the event. Wetex 2024 served as a bridge between academic knowledge and real-world applications, empowering our students to envision their future careers with a greater understanding of industry practices.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Richa Arora, COO and Head of Institution, for her unwavering support and guidance in organizing industry visits that provide our students with such impactful learning experiences.
